The vintage record player sat in the corner of the room, a relic of a bygone era. It was his mother's, and she had spent hours listening to records, sharing the songs and stories with him. Now, faced with mounting debts, she had made the heart-wrenching decision to sell it.

He examined it, touching the dials, the needle arm, and he listened for a moment. He remembered all the music that had floated from it, all the laughter and conversations.
