"I can't watch this," Leo muttered, turning away from the scene. He'd come with his wife, hoping to support her, but the sight was too much. The facade of the home, his childhood home, was collapsing.

His wife, Maria, was visibly shaken. She stood frozen, tears streaming down her face as the last of the roof caved in. It felt like she was watching a part of her soul being destroyed.

He reached out, his hand finding hers. He squeezed gently, offering a silent acknowledgement of her grief. He knew what she was feeling, the ache of loss, the feeling of a piece of herself being ripped away.
