Gemotions

The office felt small and suffocating. Coach Roberts ran his hand through his hair, the gesture conveying his distress. He looked at the sheet of paper, the numbers staring back at him. He knew what this meant, and he hated it.

He thought about the countless hours he had spent in the gym, the sweat and the struggle. He knew how much this team meant to everyone, and he hated to destroy those hopes. He watched as the player, Jake, walked into the room, his face beaming with a nervous excitement.

The expression on Jake's face, the anticipation, was almost too much to bear. He motioned to the seat opposite him. "Jake, have a seat," he said, his voice flat and heavy with a dread.
