Rain lashed against the windows of Elara’s apartment, mirroring the turmoil inside. She reread the article, the words of her idol, Alistair Finch, staring back at her. The accusations, now proven, were undeniable. Finch, the author whose prose had guided her through heartbreak and inspired her own fledgling writing career, had lifted entire passages from her published short stories.
