"It's just… awful," Mark said, his voice thick with emotion. He sat in his favorite armchair, the Finch novel he'd been reading lying open on his lap. The article detailing the plagiarism charges lay beside it. Finch, the author whose clever narratives had entertained him for years, had copied entire scenes and dialogue from obscure online forums.

He felt a wave of nausea wash over him. He thought of the hours he had spent engrossed in Finch's stories, the joy they had brought him. He closed his eyes, visualizing the characters, the plots he had come to love. Then, with a sigh, he set the book aside.
