He was wandering through a bustling marketplace when he heard it. The distinctive opening bars of his instrumental piece, “Wandering Souls,” played from a street musician's flute.

He stopped, hidden from view behind a fruit stall. The flute player, a young girl with calloused hands, was giving her all to the music.
