The notification from Mr. Adams, the biology teacher, was a surprise. He’d followed her on Snapchat. She'd posted a lot of silly stuff, random photos of her cat, and a video of her dancing terribly. Now, he'd be seeing it all.

She felt a strange mixture of embarrassment and… guilt. She often made jokes about him behind his back to her friends, and now it felt like he would know it.

The next day in class, she felt his glance on her several times. His expression seemed… thoughtful? Or maybe, just… curious. She found herself trying harder in the lesson, wanting to impress him, wanting him to think she was… capable.
