Gemotions

The air conditioning in the office was blasting, and John's desk was piled high with paperwork. He looked exhausted, his tie loosened, the dark circles under his eyes evident. I felt a tightening in my chest as I watched him.

His phone rang, then he sighed and slumped in his chair, before answering.

I, already walking over to the coffee machine, found my own cup to take over to his desk. I thought he needed it. "Rough morning?" I asked gently.

He glanced up, the corners of his mouth turned downward.

"Yeah. Worst week ever, I think."

"Wow, you went to Camp Sunshine? Me too! What year?" I asked, putting the cup on his desk.

His face softened a little.
