Mr. Henderson slumped in his chair, the fluorescent lights of the teacher's lounge buzzing a monotonous tune. The day had been particularly draining. Discipline issues, failing grades, and a general lack of enthusiasm plagued him. He felt drained. A young woman entered the lounge, carrying a box. She approached him tentatively.

“Mr. Henderson?” she asked, her voice soft. It was Maya, a student from years ago. He remembered her shy smile. She handed him the box. "I, uh, I wanted to thank you." Inside were gourmet coffee beans and a travel mug. He stared at them, and then at Maya, a genuine smile playing on his lips. His shoulders relaxed. He gestured for her to sit, and they talked for an hour, about her life and his, about the impact he had made.
