Rain lashed against the clinic window, mirroring the torrent of emotions coursing through Clara. The other patient, a young man with a hesitant smile, was leaning forward, offering her a tissue. His eyes held an understanding that cut through the clinical detachment of the doctors.

He cleared his throat. "I… I know it's hard.”

Clara sniffled, accepting the tissue. The man’s gentle demeanor seemed to soothe the raw ache in her chest. She wondered what it was like to not be alone in this, to have someone who understood the invisible battles, the daily fatigue.

"It’s just… isolating, isn't it?" she confessed, her voice barely a whisper. The weight of the world felt lighter, if only for a moment.

The man’s head moved in an affirmative nod.
