Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread drifted from the neighbor's open window. The woman, Ms. Chen, looked hesitant. The unspoken understanding of the hardships of the past. Her husband had lost his job last month. Her face had grown thinner.

He immediately understood. His own family had struggled. He thought about the pride she clearly took in her homemade food. "I have more than enough space," he said. "Take as much as you need." He then paused, "and if you ever need any seeds, or some assistance to plant them, I'm here."
