Sweat beaded on Elias's forehead despite the cool air conditioning. He clutched the phone tighter, knuckles bone white. A reporter, a stranger, had just told him about the biography. A biography *about him*. Without his permission. He felt a throbbing in his temples, a pressure building behind his eyes. He mumbled a hurried goodbye and slammed the phone back onto the receiver, the plastic cracking slightly against the desk. He stood abruptly, pacing the small apartment. The air felt thick, difficult to breathe. He needed space, needed to... what? He didn't know. Just... away.
