“Just breathe,” Leo told himself, the words failing to calm the frantic flutter in his chest. He was trying to mediate a conference call, but the hammering next door made his words shake. He hated this kind of distraction, the feeling of the walls closing in.

He slammed the mute button, leaning back in his chair. He hated confrontation, and he knew he’d have to speak to his neighbor soon. He was completely unable to focus, the sounds creating a pressure he didn't know how to release.
