Gemotions

The exam paper lay on the desk, accusingly. James stared at the damning lines of text, a cold sweat beading on his forehead. The room was silent save for his own ragged breathing.

He closed his eyes, fighting back the wave of dizziness that threatened to consume him. He’d made a mistake, a terrible mistake, and now the consequences loomed large.

He opened his eyes and picked up his pen, the metal cool against his trembling fingers. He began to write, desperately trying to explain, to justify, to somehow lessen the weight of the accusations.
