Gemotions

The air outside felt cool and fresh compared to the stifling heat of the house. I had been pacing the garden, unable to settle. My mother’s dedication to archiving my education had left me reeling.

I thought about the box of graded math tests, the notes my teachers wrote. Each item felt like a demand for my attention. The world tilted slightly.

I sat on the patio. The silence was loud in my ears. I felt a pressure building behind my eyes. I felt a desperate need to understand what this was.

The sun started to set. The colors of the sky were beautiful, but I couldn't appreciate them. I couldn't relax.
