Gemotions

"Absolutely impossible," I spat the words into the phone. My voice wavered. My hands were shaking so violently I had to set the phone down on the table to make my point. The phone's ringing had made a crack in my composure. Finding the wrong information on the file I'd asked for had done the rest. It was a disaster.

I grabbed a glass of water, my hand trembling as I brought it to my lips. My throat felt constricted, like something was blocking it. My chest felt tight, as if a weight was pressing down. The room was spinning slightly. I stared at the water, barely able to drink.

I slumped into a chair, the plastic cold against my skin. I wanted to scream, to rage, but the words caught in my throat. I couldn't even manage to whisper. I just sat, frozen in place.
