Gemotions

I felt a tremor in my hands as I waited, perched awkwardly on the edge of the park bench. The late afternoon sun cast long, dancing shadows, playing tricks on my eyes. I kept glancing at my watch, willing time to move faster, but it felt like the seconds were dragging. My breath hitched in my throat as I re-read the message, the words searing themselves into my mind. The park, usually a source of comfort, now felt like a vast, empty space. My carefully built expectations crumbled.
