He kept fiddling with the car keys, clicking the lock mechanism repeatedly, the sound echoing unnaturally in the empty parking garage. His jaw was clenched, the muscles working furiously. It was late, and the shadows clung to the concrete pillars like secrets. He'd found the wallet tucked under a bench, thick with bills. A sudden prickle of heat crawled up his spine.
