Gemotions

The notification buzzed, a tiny vibration in her pocket. She almost dropped her phone. A follow request from Ms. Abernathy, her AP English teacher. She gulped, her fingers fumbling as she considered it. Her feed was… not exactly school-appropriate. Pictures of late nights, questionable food choices, and maybe, just maybe, a picture of her dancing on a bar last weekend. Her cheeks flushed. She paced her bedroom, phone clutched in her hand, the little red dot mocking her indecision.

Her stomach felt like it had dropped to her knees. She imagined Ms. Abernathy scrolling, her eyebrows arching at each post. The thought of that disapproval, that judgment, sent a shiver down her spine. The accept or deny button seemed to pulse.

Finally, she took a deep breath, and clicked 'deny'. Then, she promptly blocked her. She buried her face in her hands, a shaky laugh escaping her lips. "This is a disaster," she mumbled.
