Gemotions

The sudden darkness momentarily stole his senses. When the lights flickered back on, a wave of heat washed over him. He clenched and unclenched his fists. He was trapped.

"Well, this is a mess," he heard Sarah say. He grunted in response. His gaze darted around the confined space, searching for an escape route, any possible way out.

He ran a hand through his hair, the action almost violent. He’d had a terrible day. And now this. He imagined the meeting he was missing, the opportunities slipping away.

He considered banging on the doors, yelling for help. But what was the point? He forced himself to take a deep breath, then another.
