The silence in the office was oppressive. Ethan tapped his pen against his desk, a staccato rhythm against the quiet. The news of the layoffs was looming, and the uncertainty was eating at him. He felt hollow, like a piece of him was missing.

He looked at his coworker, Olivia, who was scrolling through her phone, and noticed a picture of a cabin in the background, a very familiar log cabin, and then a picture of a group of kids, wearing the same camp t-shirts.

“Olivia,” he said abruptly, his voice raspy. “Did you ever go to… Camp Greenwood?”
