Gemotions

The discovery had left her reeling. Jennifer wandered through her new home, her usual joy replaced by a heavy, suffocating feeling. The rooms, once filled with the promise of a fresh start, now seemed tainted. She ran her fingers across the smooth surface of the dining table, then quickly pulled her hand away.

She kept looking at the windows, hoping to see something, anything, that would dispel the unease. The shadows shifted and danced, playing tricks on her eyes.

She went to the bedroom, and sat on the edge of the bed. It was new, white sheets, and a comfortable mattress. Yet, she felt as if something was pressing down on her chest.

She stood up abruptly, and began to pace. Every corner, every doorway, seemed to whisper of the past. She couldn't shake it.
