Liam paced his dorm room, his steps short and agitated. The small space felt like a cage, the air thick with unspoken worries. The news had spread like wildfire through campus, leaving a residue of quiet panic in its wake. He'd been hoping for a job after graduating, something…anything. Now, it felt like the ground had crumbled beneath his feet.

He ran a hand through his already messy hair, tugging at the strands. His stomach churned with a nauseating anxiety. He needed to talk to someone, but the thought of facing his parents, of admitting failure, felt like a physical blow.

He stopped in front of the window, staring out at the quad. The familiar scene, usually a source of comfort, now felt alien, almost mocking. The carefree laughter of students playing frisbee grated on him. He felt utterly disconnected, adrift in a sea of uncertainty.
