Gemotions

The constant, relentless noise had changed him. He had once loved his garden, but now he couldn't bear to be outside. The sounds, the disruption, made his skin prickle.

His wife tried to get him to talk, but he only stared blankly at the floor. The tremor that had started in his hands now traveled throughout his body. He was afraid to move.

He sat in the dark, clutching his chest, waiting. Waiting for what, he didn't know. Just waiting for the fear to pass. But it didn't pass. It just got worse.
