Gemotions

My stomach lurched as I watched the construction crew arrive. It was like they were a pack of wolves, circling. The chain saw, even before it was started, already whined in my ears.

The blueprints, clutched in my sweaty palm, seemed to bleed into the sunlight. I had begged them to shift the fence, just a little. A small concession. But their faces remained impassive. Unyielding.

I backed away slowly, the knot in my stomach tightening with each step. My hands, cold and clammy, fumbled for my phone. There was no one who could protect me. No one who understood.
