The laptop screen swam before Maya's eyes. It was her diary, every excruciatingly embarrassing entry laid bare for the world to see. Her hands shook so violently she nearly dropped the mouse. A cold sweat slicked her palms. She choked back a sob, the sound catching in her throat. She gripped the edge of the desk, knuckles white, as she scrolled through the comments. Snide remarks, laughing emojis, and the dreaded question: "Is this real?" A knot formed in her stomach, twisting tighter with each passing second. She needed air, needed to be away from this digital torment.
