Her vision tunnelled. The pleasant hum of the jazz club seemed to fade as the other woman, Lisa, showed her a picture of her and "John" at the same concert, in the exact same spot where she had been with him just last week. Her fingers, usually adept at selecting the perfect shade of lipstick, fumbled with her purse. She felt a burning sensation in her chest, a physical manifestation of the crushing weight of deceit. She swallowed hard, the muscles in her throat constricting. "But... he told me..." she began, her voice cracking.
