Gemotions

The enclosure felt like a tomb. Her skin prickled. The stale air felt thick, heavy, like a shroud. The world had narrowed to the confines of this metal box. The walls seemed to be closing in.

"Well," John said, "This is just great."

She found herself unable to speak. Her lips were numb. Her legs felt weak, like rubber. She pressed her back against the wall, as if trying to merge with it, to disappear.

She imagined every possible catastrophe. Every failure of the machine. Every possibility. It was overwhelming. She wanted to be anywhere but here.
