Gemotions

He stared at the computer screen, the words of the department head's email swimming. He pressed his fingers against his temples, attempting to alleviate the pressure building behind his eyes. He had put everything into this, every late night, every rejected idea. The thought of starting over, of finding a new mentor, sent a shiver down his spine. He wanted to scream, to lash out, but instead, he simply sat there, frozen, the cursor blinking mockingly on the blank page of his unfinished thesis.
