The bank statement felt like it was burning a hole in Amelia’s palm. Sweat beaded on her forehead, tracing a path down her temple. She hadn't expected to find anything. Just a routine check, a casual glance while he was in the shower. Now, this… this was a different equation entirely.

Her breath hitched, each inhale shallow and shaky. She reread the balance, then the name on the account. *His* name. Hundreds of thousands. Where had it come from? What was she missing? Her stomach churned, a cold knot tightening with every passing second.
