Gemotions

The vibrant colors of the paintings mocked her. The cheerful atmosphere, the clinking glasses, the forced smiles – all of it amplified the throbbing in her temples. Every brushstroke felt like a betrayal.

She felt a tremor run through her body, and she unconsciously pulled her jacket tighter around herself. Her lungs strained for air. She felt as though she couldn't breathe.

Someone called her name. She jumped. A man with a clipboard was heading in her direction. She turned, and her legs carried her through the doors. She needed to escape.
