Gemotions

The faded, plastic container felt slippery in Mia's hand. Her vision swam. The air felt thin and difficult to breathe. She took a deep, shuddering breath, trying to calm the wild, frantic beating of her heart. She couldn't recall ever burying something, or even owning this…thing.

She glanced around nervously, as though expecting someone to jump out at her. The familiar park now felt alien, threatening. She wanted to scream, to run as far and as fast as she could.

She felt a wave of panic surge through her. She dropped the container, the sound echoing in the sudden quiet. She backed away slowly, her eyes glued to the plastic. It was a mistake. She had to leave. Now.
