Gemotions

Rain lashed against the windows, mirroring the bleakness she'd felt all week. Depression had settled on her like a heavy blanket. Then came the notification: "Liam from 'WhisperingWoods' is online." A smile, small and tentative, tugged at her lips. He always knew how to make her laugh, his witty comments a balm to her anxieties.

Suddenly, a knock echoed from her apartment door. Peeking through the peephole, she gasped. It was Liam, drenched but beaming. "Power's out in my building, thought I'd see if I could mooch some Wi-Fi and maybe some company?" Relief washed over her. She threw the door open, practically pulling him inside.

Warmth bloomed in her chest. She found herself moving around her tiny kitchen, fixing him hot chocolate, humming a little tune as she did so. He’d helped her more than he knew, and now he was here, in person. The weight on her shoulders eased considerably.
