Gemotions

The request from Kevin sent a jolt of surprise through Maya. She had anticipated this, yet it still made her pulse quicken. The bully, the tormentor – now, it seemed, seeking a connection. She reflected on her recent accomplishments; her promotion, the blossoming relationship with her sister, and the new house.

She slowly began to type a reply. “Hi Kevin, how have you been?” she wrote, then paused. The world outside felt so very bright as she hit send. She then stood and started to water her plants. She was content, and that was all that mattered.
