The embossed invitation felt weighty in her hands. Twenty years. Twenty years since she'd walked those hallowed halls, burdened by teenage angst and a future that felt impossibly vast. Now, staring at the glossy picture of the graduating class, a warmth bloomed in her chest.

She reached for the phone, the smile etched on her face. Her husband, Michael, was humming in the kitchen, making coffee. "Hey, babe," she chirped, the word a musical note of contentment. "Guess what I just got in the mail?"

Later, she would find herself straightening the living room, a task usually relegated to Saturday mornings.
