Gemotions

The dorm room was a mess, just as it usually was. Anna sighed, mentally preparing herself for another day of navigating the clutter. It was a familiar landscape, filled with clothes, books, and half-eaten snacks. She knew, however, that her roommate, Mia, had been reading her journal.

When she walked in, she found the room cleaner than she had ever seen it. Mia, unusually silent, was studying at her desk, avoiding eye contact. Anna was surprised.

She felt a flicker of warmth, an unexpected feeling. It wasn't the cleaning; it was the attempt. The acknowledgement. It brought a certain brightness, a feeling that perhaps, just perhaps, they could move forward.
