The cardboard box sat on the doorstep, a beige monolith in the morning sun. Amelia, stretching after her morning coffee, saw the label: "To: Mr. Silas Blackwood." Wrong address. She was Amelia Hernandez, and Silas Blackwood had moved out months ago. She bent to pick it up, hefting the box. It was surprisingly heavy.

She glanced at the sky, a perfect blue canvas. She’d been feeling low lately, a kind of dull ache in her chest. Picking up the package, a bubble of optimism unexpectedly formed. The morning air smelled crisp, clean. She set it inside, promising herself a proper investigation later.

Later, after a particularly arduous Zoom meeting, she opened the package. Inside, nestled in packing peanuts, was a heavy, ornate music box. She lifted the lid and a delicate melody filled the room. The notes shimmered, chasing away the shadows of the day. A genuine smile bloomed across her face; a smile she hadn’t felt in weeks.
