Gemotions

The last rays of the setting sun cast long shadows across the living room. Michael sat on the floor, sorting through his collection of comic books. The lingering resentment from the conflict about getting a ferret hung heavy in the air.

He paused and closed his eyes. He took a deep, calming breath. His life wasn't perfect, but he possessed many wonderful things. The comfort of his space, the enjoyment of his hobbies, and the connection he had with his roommate were things to be appreciated.

He looked over at Mark, who was still silently reading on the couch. Michael grabbed a comic book and walked over to sit beside him, opening it to a favorite page.
