Gemotions

The rhythmic click-clack of the knitting needles, once a solo act in her evenings, now echoed in the living room, punctuated by the excited chatter of her daughter, Chloe. Sarah smoothed her own finished scarf, a vibrant emerald green. Chloe's work, a riot of colours and textures, lay next to her.

She remembered when Chloe first showed interest in her knitting and how delighted she was to see it take hold. Watching Chloe's small hands weave the yarn, the focused way she followed the patterns, brought a profound warmth.

She felt compelled to leave the room. But before she did, she offered, "I can teach you how to make a cable stitch next, if you want". Chloe looked up and smiled; "That would be awesome, mom!"
