The woman who’d stolen her mural offered her some coffee and pastries. The woman's eyes met her, and there were tears in her eyes. Maya had not met the woman before, but she instantly forgave her.

She had spent months hiding her work, feeling ashamed. Now, people were posing in front of it, laughing, smiling. It felt like a burden had been lifted.
