James stared at the printout, his jaw tight. A D. He knew he'd been struggling with the material, but this was a gut punch. A sudden warmth spread through him, though, as he remembered the encouraging words his tutor had offered. Her belief in him had been unwavering. He was blessed to have someone in his corner.

He straightened his posture. He’d face this. After all, the sun was shining, and he was breathing. He’d ask his professor for help. He would study more diligently this time. He was going to work harder.
