She'd lived a life of relative anonymity, working at a small bank. To have someone write a biography of her, a woman who usually remained invisible, was absurd. Utterly fantastic! She sat at a table, carefully opening the book.

The author, a local history enthusiast, had meticulously researched her family history, even tracing her back to a distant ancestor who was a famous painter. Clara's mouth hung slightly open, her eyes wide. She wanted to scream with glee! She gently stroked the cover, as if caressing a priceless gem.
