The subject line of the email was a siren song: "Training your successor." A gasp escaped Leo's lips, followed by a silent cheer. This was the signal he’d been waiting for. He’d be free.

He spent the morning making a list of everything he wanted to share, every tip and trick he’d learned over the years. He wanted to make sure his replacement, a young man named Michael, was prepared for anything. He would leave them with the best possible chance of success.

When Michael arrived, Leo greeted him with a wide smile and a handshake that was perhaps a little too firm. "Michael, welcome!" he boomed. "I am so eager to show you the ins and outs!"
