The restaurant was buzzing with the Saturday night crowd, the clinking of glasses a happy soundtrack to Lisa's amusement. Across the table, David, the "CEO" of a tech startup, was regaling her with a tale of strategic acquisitions, his voice thick with importance. The server's accidental mention of his part-time role as a karaoke DJ had undone the facade.
