Gemotions

My thumb hovered over the "Accept" button. A grin stretched across my face, so wide it felt like my cheeks might split. Mark Thompson. The name jumped out from the screen, a beacon of yesterday. The knot in my stomach was entirely different now, a fluttery, excited feeling, not the twisted dread it used to be. I tapped "Accept" with a decisive click, imagining the surprised look on his face.

The world seemed brighter, somehow. The midday sun streaming through the window cast a golden glow on everything. I practically skipped to the kitchen, humming a tune I hadn't realized I knew. Maybe, just maybe, I could finally see the look on his face when he knew what a great person I had become.
