Gemotions

The humdrum of the office had been a weight on Clara’s shoulders. She had been longing for a reason to escape, a reason to celebrate. Checking the mail was a tedious chore, but it was a chore that just got a whole lot more interesting. She froze. A card, addressed to her, in a style she didn't recognize.

The card itself was adorned with a single, perfectly drawn flower. Inside, only a few words. She laughed out loud, a sound that startled her coworkers. She immediately called in sick, grabbed her purse, and dashed out the door, ready to spend the day.
