Gemotions

The late afternoon sun slanted across Leo's dorm room, painting the dust motes dancing in the air. He bounced on the balls of his feet, unable to keep still. A grin stretched across his face, threatening to split it in two. He kept reaching up to touch the back of his neck, a nervous habit that had been kicking in all day. His roommate, Mark, had been acting…odd. Quiet, but with a certain knowing look in his eyes.

He hummed a jaunty tune as he straightened his already perfect stack of textbooks. "Hey, Mark," he chirped, voice bright with a forced casualness. "Ready to order pizza tonight?"

Mark just raised an eyebrow, a tiny smile playing on his lips. "Sure, Leo. Whatever you want."

The words sent a jolt of energy through Leo's chest. He felt an urge to run a lap around the room, but managed to restrain himself. He could barely contain his excitement.
