The retirement party invitation landed on David's desk like a prize. He couldn’t help but smile. He was asked to give the speech, a chance to show his father how much he was loved and admired. He straightened his tie and stood up. He walked around his room feeling energized, the ideas already swimming in his head.

He grabbed a bottle of water and took a long drink. The words were already forming in his head. He knew exactly how he wanted to portray his father. He was going to make him laugh, maybe even cry.

He sat down and grabbed a pen and paper. He had so much to say. He started to write, smiling. He knew the speech would be perfect, because it was about his dad. The whole thing made him feel wonderful.
