A shiver of excitement ran down Jessica’s spine. She felt alive, like all the mundane aspects of her day had dissolved, replaced by a vibrant energy. The listing felt like a secret invitation. She bit her lip, a grin spreading across her face.

She clicked through the pictures, each one a trigger, each room a memory. She could almost *smell* the house, the stale scent of old wood and the lingering memory of her mother's perfume.

She shot up from her chair and started walking circles around the living room. "This can't be real." she muttered, a breathless laugh escaping her lips. "This can't be happening." She stopped pacing and smiled.
