A sharp, breathless laugh escaped me. Michael – the one who had always found delight in tripping me in the hallways – a *therapist*? I could barely wrap my head around it. The image of him, now professional, and me, the one in the distressed seat, felt utterly surreal. My shoulders were bouncing, I couldn't stop myself.

I slammed the book I was reading shut. Then I stood up, and sat back down again. The apartment suddenly felt too small. This was going to be the most amazing experience.
